- Sol Bellow (Saul Bellow, 1915 - 2005) was the first who won the Nobel prize for Literature (1976) contemporary Jewish American writers, the book in his main works as the research object, to explore which contains rich social content and deep philosophical thinking. Bellow is a moral home. He thinks all the writers should be so. His works pay close attention to the living condition of human beings, and hold positive attitude towards modern people. As a Jewish writer, Bellow himself has a strong sense of existence because of the long history of exile in the Jewish history. Through the hero of the novel, he explores the human survival strategy in modern cities. He actively fulfill their social responsibilities, give Hemingway the protagonist's pessimistic attitude; he pays attention to the inner world, seek the true redemption of mankind; he took all things, trying to reach a compromise with the modern society, to adapt to the society.
